Packing for China Express - Is a sleeping bag essential?

Postby amandam » Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:25 pm

I'm booked to go on the China Express tour in April. On the list of suggested items to pack is listed a sleeping bag.

Is this really necessary, as the accommodation is in tourist class hotels? I would hate to lug around a sleeping bag if it wasn't required and I think it would contradict G Adventures other suggestion of packing light!!

A response would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Amanda

Hi Amanda,

No, sleeping bag is not required. On the China Express the accommodation is Hotels (6 nts) & sleeper train (1 nt). Also the sleeper trains have fresh bedding on each bunk so there is no worries. One thing you may want to keep in mind, the trains that I have travelled on with gAdventures had squatter toilets so bring toilet paper & wet wipes. Have a great trip!

Cheers,
Michelle
