Packing for Discover Japan

Hi there!
I'm looking at taking the Discover Japan tour in February or March. Does anyone have tips on how to pack? What clothing and footwear is most appropriate for the weather at that time? Small suitcase or duffel bag? And if anyone has general feedback about this tour, please let me know!

I travelled around Japan on my own this past February, it will be cool & a could snow a bit. I brought with me jeans, shirts, hoodies, light/medium jacket & comfortable shoes. I found it easiest to backpack it, especially with taking the shinkansen & metro trains. You will have to deal with crowds of people & the last thing you want to do is cause a traffic jam with a suitcase, for myself I find it best to be as mobile as possible.
