Snorkeling in the Galapagos - Photos
The snorkeling in the Galapagos was fantastic! Aboard the Adventurer V, we generally snorkelled twice a day, with up to an hour or so each time. We had close encounters with sea lions, penguins, sea turtles, and white tip reef sharks. It was amazing!!!

Hi, Great pix!!
I'm travelling to the Galapagos with GAP next month. Just wondering, what's your thought about the snorkelling gear. Should I bring my own mask & snorkel? or do you rent the mask, snorkel & flippers on the boat.
Also, which camera did you use?
Cheers!
Karen

I would definitely bring your own snorkel gear - our boat, the Adventurer V, did not have enough masks and snorkels for everyone. We didn't use flippers. I personally would bring a wet suit b/c I would need one to snorkel for an hour at a time comfortably, but others wouldn't need one. Our boat rented shortie wet suits, but didn't have enough for everyone.
I use an Olympus Stylus camera. The newer ones don't need an underwater housing - they can go underwater for snorkeling depth. Mine is older so I use the coordinating underwater housing for it. We love it! You can even shoot video.
Have fun on your trip!
