Awesome photos, Daniel! Thanks for sharing. My favorite is the one of the lion roaring. Great detail and clarity on that one.

Which area/what part of the trip was your favorite?

I would definitely say the Masai Mara and the Serengeti were my fav. The landscapes and wildlife (incl birds) are so incredible. I could have stayed at each for days on end really.

Lovely!

Favorites are the flamingos, the 2 elephants walking down the road, the the lone tree/road shot. They are all great though; wonderful shots of the big cats. What an experience.

Hey Daniel,

Just tried your link above and it said all the pictures were removed, any idea what happened? Maybe its just my computer...

Anyway, saw your post on the benefits of having two cameras, and I run into that situation all the time (but alas, two cameras is too much of a burden, both on my checkbook and my luggage). Recently took a catamaran trip in Hawaii and had the 300mm on in case we found dolphins (or rather, they found us). Sure enough they showed up... right under the bow, and all I could do was get super zoomed shots of pieces of dolphin. So I did the next best thing... turn the camera off and watch the show! You were lucky enough to see the leopard, and so close is truly good fortune, I'm sure you realize that a missed shot is not the same as a missed opportunity.

Yup, I deleted the pics since I will be uploading my fav 200 or so pics this weekend. I'll replace the links with a link to my photobucket shared album.

It's very true that it's so easy to get so caught up in trying to get a good pic that you sometimes forget to appreciate what you are seeing. Sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses.

Great pics Daniel, thanks for sharing! I see you made it to Hell's Gate National Park in Naivasha. My friends and I rented bicycles from a local and rode through the park, hiked around the gorge for a little while too, then stayed at a little hotel right next to the lake. Altogether one of my favorite places on the planet.

Fabulous pictures, Daniel! My husband, daughter, and I are booked for DKTW in July this year. I loved that some of the pictures seemed to be landscape shots but one by one the animals appeared out of their camouflage!

Totally forgot I had that link out! I really should whittle those pics down a bit but I'm too lazy right now.

I really wish I could redo the trip but this time take the pics in raw format. I took them in jpeg thinking that I wouldn't have enough room for raw. Now I can kick myself. Some of the pics I could have touched up for my photobook I created.

I guess there's always Botswana!
