Packing for India in August
What would anyone recommend I pack for 3 weeks in India. I'm female and will be moving from city to city quite a bit. Thanks

I find my packing list the same no matter where I go. The only thing that differs is the clothing. If you like, I can post my standard packing list tonight.

Lightweight quickdry high wicking clothes. Some rain gear - its monsoon time. Nothing too skimpy, covered shoulders and legs (capris are good) for women is defo best if you dont want to attract too much attention. LOTS of mozzie repellant.

Hey Zuleika, it's okay for women as long as it covers the knees, right?
Speaking of monsoon, maybe some waterproof (Goretex?) shoes/boots would be good? I probably don't want my feet wet in Old Delhi... nasty. And then there's my camera. Need to find a way to weather proof it. I was thinking maybe I can bring a roll of shrink wrap...

LOL - so long as you dont want to take a photo quickly!! How about a ziplock bag instead!
And pack light - if your travelling a round a lot too much luggage/weight is a pain in the a***!!!

Yeah - you can get away with it, although I did have full length cotton trousers also. But defo not short shorts!
Seems that it is okay to have your middle hanging out though!!! - Many Indian women do - although I have my belly button pierced and THAT attracted heaps of attention!

Don't Forget Your Deet!
Lots of mosquitos there when I was there a few years ago. And monsoon season will only make that worse.
