Shoes!!!
I'm doing the Indochina trip in January, I plan to wear Flip Flops as much as possible but is it advisable to bring a pair of proper shoes too, such as trainers. Are there any activities which would require something more hard wearing? I'm travelling for 12 months so will def be taking more than one pair of shoes but don't wear trainers at home so don't want to take something unnecessary.
Thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa
You could consider taking along a pair of walking sandals just in case you have to walk somewhere that has uneven terrain because flip flops aren't the best for negotiating anything wet, slippery, rocky, sharp, etc

Re: Shoes!!!
I wouldn't take trainers to Asia....for one thing, it is so hot it would just be uncomfortable, and if they get wet, they take ages to dry. I did the Indochina discovery tour in July, and lived most days in flip flops. However, I did take a pair of sports sandals, which were invaluable for activities such as caving, and in the rain when flip flops have a problem staying on your feet.
