Have I gone too far

Postby jswest » Sun Jun 14, 2009 2:04 am

I, 30 years old, have booked the 8/29 tour for multi-sport Galapagos and then the Inca Trail and then 10 days in the Amazon for a total of 4.5 weeks with days in between each destination. Dream come true? Seemingly.
All I am wondering is if I, like a kid in the candy store, have simply gone too far? I am not backing out, but have I let things get out of control with the amount of time and activities I will be obligated to (and I HOPE I am using the word obligated VERY loosely)?
Has anyone here had the experience of realizing that 'they flew a bit closer to the sun' than they should have and wished that moderation rather than gluttony came in to play when it came to booking international/domestic travel?

If your dream's coming true then it's never too much...just go and live it. Just the excitement will give you the energy to want to do everything :P

i tend to have a bit of a panic attack after booking an exciting trip, too...but speaking with my world-travelling grandmother always helps put things in perspective for me.

she's in her '90s now and can't travel anymore, but she always says that she does not regret a single trip she ever took! the incredible memories she has of the places she has been have stayed with her all these years & she wouldn't change any of it.

think of all the amazing stories you'll have to tell when you get back!

bon voyage!

Hi Jswest,
Tip for inner confidence....
Blot out all exterior influences,go somewhere quiet.
Just think of your trip.
Run it through your mind.
Close your eyes.
Ask yourself "How do I feel about my trip?''
And what is the first feeling you register or sense?

Learn to trust your senses.
