Kilimanjaro Wildlife

Postby eglc02 » Wed Jun 12, 2013 11:37 am

My wife and I are going on a belated honeymoon doing the Mt Kilimanjaro Group Trek—Machame 8-Day Route starting on 16th December 2013. What wildlife are we likely to encounter?

Minimum. We only saw some birds and maybe some small animals, but nothing else. Good luck.

I agree that you'll only see minimal wildlife, though it probably also depends on which route you take. I would imagine that on all routes you're too high up to see wildlife after day 1 or 2. I did the Rongai route and I think we saw some birds and a monkey or two on the way down.
