Cape Town to Nairobi

Wanted to connect with fellow travellers for this 40 day trip (Cape Town to Nairobi). Super excited!! Also, any advise from travellers that have taken this trip already?

So when are you headed out? My husband and I are on this trip Jan 13-Feb 23 we are coming from Alaska and super excited!

i did this in reverse plus the uganda gorilla trip....so was 54 days...loved it. a few long driving days, especially in tanzania..we had one 14hr day... but i thought the long drives were well worth the stuff i got to see along the way. my tour ran from end of aug to mid oct, so we had cooler weather in east africa and got warmer as we headed south, so never had really hot unbearable weather nor were the mozzies/biting bugs bad anywhere along the way on our tour...so no complaints of that sort. was sometimes hard to do laundry because rarely had 2 nights in the same place, but always seemed to make it through. some of the group changed at windhoek, livingstone, zanzibar, and nairobi for our tour...so always a different group dynamic to keep it interesting.

Did you obtain your visas for Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia at the land border crossings?

Doing the February 24 to April 4th trip. Coming from Alberta.

Getting mixed messages on whether or not Canadians can get VISAs for Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia at the land border crossings. GAP reps say "yes" and suggest that, but official VISA sites don't specifically say that ... getting a little worried ...

I had no problems getting visas at the borders in 2009.
