Mosquito nets for overland tours
The packing list indicates there are mosquito nets on the tents, but it recommends that you bring individual mosquito nets for better protection...
Most of the reports in this forum say you don't really need them. It seems like a pain to unpack and repack, and it would take up a lot of space in my bag. I'm doing the Vic Falls to Nairobi trip in late October-November.
Anyone happy they brought one along?

We were happy that we didn't bring one. The tents have a bug screen on the entrance. If desirous, you could spray the inside of your tent with something akin to 'OFF!'.

I wouldn't bother. The tents have screens on door flaps and a quality DEET-based repellent should be sufficient for the time you're out of the tent.

That's what I figured, which is why I thought that it was strange to have it noted on the packing list. I am friends with DEET after my trip to the Amazon with Gadventures in 2009.

I'm with the people above. Don't bother. Just make sure to zip your tent whenever you go in and out and you'll be fine.
