Are things toned down now for Egypt?

For general travel in Egypt? what safety things should one be aware of?

The warnings about travel to Egypt from your government are a good place to start.

In our case, we had people latch onto us as our unsolicited guide. They'll expect payment at the end and may not be happy with what you offer. If you want a guide, then fix a price up front as with taxis.

What areas of Egypt, should we be on watch for?
can one travel in most of Egypt now, with out problems. planning for October travel, would u think things be better by then

anymore elections to happen?
