Egypt Safety situation

Postby worldtraveller » Sun Dec 11, 2011 5:58 pm

I know that some of the issues in Egypt have settled to a degree.

There is some tensions going on in Cairo. Not sure if still going on.

i like to ask the forum , from anyone who knows the answer or anyone who was just in Egypt.

What are the safety issues at present?

has the issues in Cairo lowered yet?
would it be safe to go to Egypt now.

Is G Adventures doing all trips to Egypt now?

Anything to watch for?
thanks

Safety is G Adventures first concern with all tours.

You can always check the latest status of our trips on the following page:

It looks like all tours are running as normal right now:

Egypt Unrest
Posted: 21 Nov, 2011 | Updated: 28 Nov, 2011

Elections are currently underway in Egypt for a new parliament. Protesters in Tahrir Square remain, but in fewer numbers than in recent days. All G Adventures tours are proceeding on schedule, with minor modifications as necessary in the Cairo itineraries to avoid the ongoing protests and manifestations.

Updated 24 November 2011

There is no change to the unrest. The protests continue in downtown Cairo around the area of Tahrir Square. Outside of this area, life in Cairo is continuing as normal, with no signs of protests or violence. There are other protests also occurring in Alexandria, Suez City, Qena City in south, and Ismaliya on the Suez Canal.

All G Adventures tours are proceeding on schedule, with minor modifications as necessary in the Cairo itineraries to avoid these protests and manifestations.
