Roam Egypt Questions

Postby birene82 » Thu Nov 10, 2011 2:03 pm

Hey Travellers,
Just wondering if anyone can help answer a few questions for me?
-Does any one know what time the welcome meeting is at?
-Were arriving a day early to adjust to time change and I wanted to do a tour to Dashour and Saqqara since its not in the Roam Egypt itinerary. Just anyone know how easy it is to go there? Can we book a tour the day of?
-Any suggestions on hotels in Downtown Cairo or the Giza Plateau?
Any help would be great!

- The meeting is normal at 1800 hours.
- If your search this forum for 'Dashur', you'll find some relevant information about visiting Dashur and Saqqara.

When you get to the arrival hotel there will be a note hanging in reception telling you the welcome meeting details...if it's not easily findable, just ask reception.

The hotel reception should also be able to call you a cab to take you to Dashur and Saqqara...and likely the museum at Memphis...and probably a stop at some guy's shop (don't feel you have to buy anything). Don't know the current price, but when I did this in 2006, it was about 120000 Egytian pounds and took about a half day.

I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list
