First time traveller

I'm doing the indochina discovery tour in December, very excited as its my first ever trip on my own! Would be really grateful for advice and tips of other people as I have no idea!

I am thinking of taking a 60litre backpack with a 15litre day sack! Bare minimum clothing wise as I know it's cheap out there!

Not sure what to do for insurance as I will be doing zip witing, cave rappelling etc. so cheap suggestions would be great!

Currency?! I've been told to take US dollars! I'm there for a month so don't really want to take just all cash! If anyone has any suggestions on the best way to take cash etc.

I think that's all but any other tips would be great!
