New to single travel

Postby sundial » Sat Oct 15, 2011 1:48 am

Hi! This is my first time to travel alone, and I'm planning on going to Turkey next April or May. It would be a lot more fun with another person - is anyone interested? :P

Welcome to the Watering Hole, sundial. If you're going on a G Adventures trip, you won't be alone. It's a great way to get traveling companions!

Buen viaje!

The first trip I ever did was by myself and it was the best trip I have done to date. Plus, some of the people I met on that trip I still keep in contact with, and that was five years ago. Enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the encouragement. This will definetely be a G Adventure, but to be honest going solo in an airport is a little intimidating!

I've done 5 trips solo and I'm about to book my 6th...it might be a good idea to book an airport pickup through G Adventures so you don't have to worry about getting to the hotel by yourself.

I was pretty nervous on my first trip, it's normal :)

I just took my first trip by myself - a G Adventure to Tanzania. It was awesome! Going through the airports alone wasn't scary at all. I did book a pick up through G at the airport in Tanzania, and this helped put my mind at ease. As soon as I went through customs, my driver was there waiting for me with a sign so I could easily find him. And my group was wonderful and we all became fast friends. I mentioned to a couple of my fellow travelers who were from Australia that I'd love to visit Australia someday, and they told me "well come on down, you have friends there now!" :)
